This project had some challenges, which involved a live cut in to existing pump station with a high sewage flow rate, and high tides to work around.
This meant extensive dewatering, confined space entries, and deep shoring. The gravity feed line was laid on a minimal grade, which extended for 3km through the main road into Waiuku, with a range of existing services to work around. We were restricted by the hours in which we could work due to the residential location, and traffic management restrictions. All material that was removed to allow installation of the pipe had to be replaced with a certified, compacted aggregate.
Despite these challenges, we were able to meet deadlines, watercare standards, grade and invert levels were achieved.

Te Awa Lakes
Te Awa LakesOur expertise and teamwork was the key to success in these challenging conditions. The water was flowing in as fast as we could dig out. Our team was put to the test with controlling the water and keeping us safe. We used trench shields, dewatering systems and a second digger to backfill as we go to prevent pipes moving and/or floating. Planning and preparing was crucial here in completing this project to the highest standards.
Paerata Rise.
Paerata Rise.We have completed an extensive amount of work, ranging from pump station upgrades, building rain gardens, Wastewater and storm water reticulation, and large wastewater transmission lines. Pipe work ranging from 100mm PVC, through to 1200 diameter concrete pipe with depths up to six metres deep. Our team has enjoyed working on this project as we have had the satisfaction of seeing a dairy farm transform into a flourishing community.
